The research and its conclusions: Scientists from Wisconsin Medical College and other centers chose three members of a family that frequently suffered from lung cancer, conducted exome sequencing on them, and found mutations in PARK 2, which is a gene relating to the ubiquitin ligase enzyme involved in biological changes such as metabolism and stress response, and  cell growth regulation.
