A quick and simple test has been introduced in the medical world to detect lung cancer within 8 seconds. Lung cancer screenings is not very popular like mammograms and colonoscopies, but medical study shows that this trend will change soon. This method is proving to be successful in detecting lung cancer at earlier stages than other screening methods do. This technique totally relies on ultra-low-dose CT technology. Dr. Michael Brodsky, being a body imaging specialist with Larchmont Medical Imaging and a radiologist, said that the Hainesport-based service provider has screened about 180 asymptomatic patients since it started using the process 18 months ago at its patient care sites in Willingboro, Medford, Mount Laurel and Moorestown. Among those tests, four incidents were of lung cancer including two early stage cases. Two more patients are going to have follow-up tests to determine if the screenings showed cancer.
